PTA The PTA (Parents and Teachers Association) is about parents working together with the co-operation of teachers and school
to raise funds and morale.
The aim of the PTA is to raise funds whilst creating a sense of community within school through organising special
and social events for the children and their families. Some events are planned just for fun, such as discos. Events like
this are not intended to raise money and are funded through ticket/snack sales and money from the PTA account.
So far money raised by the PTA has gone to the following:
• equipment for the school – colour TV, whiteboards; overhead projector trollies
• equipment requested by the children – e.g mirrors for the toilets
• financial help towards Year 6 Buckden trip.
The PTA holds its own bank account, is self-suffi cient and self-organised. Th e PTA relies solely
on the continuing support of parents/carers and school staff to be a success. At present the
group contributing to organising events is fairly small and in need of fresh input. We always
need new ideas and new faces and we would love to see you getting involved. We will be forming
a new planning group in September so please do think about whether you could help.
Ideas don’t have to be grand or ambitious.
The simplest ideas are often the best!
Thanks for taking the time to read about the PTA and we hope to hear from you in the future!
